Work in progress

Here we will put together useful information for our new students in the Master program Industrial Mathematics.

We started with some links in September ...

If you have any questions please send an email to industrial@math.tu-dortmund.de

So we can build up an FAQ list.

Courses in winter 2025/2026:

  • some links will be updated later

More detailed module descriptions will also be made available in English (pdf, german and english): MAT-877, MAT-424, MAT-418, ... - to be continued

Course details are described at the website of the Department of Mathematics.

Other course details are presented in the system LSF. The registration for most of the courses will be possible via LSF ("belegen"); sometimes the registration starts shortly before the start of the lectures. Students need their TU-account for the registration.

Material will be made available via the Moodle learning management system. When registering in the LSF system, students are also enrolled in the corresponding Moodle course.

Minor subject

The program also includes a minor subject: construction mechanics & statics, chemistry, electrical engineering and information technology, computer science, physics, technical mechanics.

At the beginning of the winter semester, we will hold a joint (virtual) meeting or consultation hour for all new students of the program and explain details about the minor subject.

In the minor subject, 16-20 credit points must be earned.
For this purpose, modules can be selected relatively flexibly from the corresponding offer of the respective Master's program (e.g. Computer Science, Physics, ...).

Overview: 120 credit points in total: 10 CP Simulation techniques / 5 CP seminar / 15 CP study project / 30 CP Master's thesis and 40-44 CP mandatory elective mathematics / 16-20 CP in the minor subject (e.g. with 16 CP in the minor subject, at least 44 CP must be completed in mathematics, etc.)

In LSF you can find the courses in Winter 2025/2026: Computer Science - Master (e.g. Vertiefungsmodule) / Physics - Master / ...
